gnet. most excelent..
Many thanks for creating the site.. well done for including a gnet lobby.. (mine is still being written...) Have tried Gnet lobby but can't make contact using settings as shown. IE my prog shows that I have created a gnet object (with a server prog) but my object dosn't show in the list of servers and my other prog (client) can't see it. I wasn't a regestered user of the site when I tried, would this make a diffrence?
Const host2:String = "www.gnet.blitzcoder.org"
Const hostget:String = "/gnet/gnet.php"
Grat to see this site though.. Have fun cps.
Hey cps, Welcome and thanks a lot. :)
gnet is the subdomain so no need to put in
www. The script is setup as index in root directory so just empty out the
hostget string. You also don't need to be a registered user and you can try again with these settings:
Const host2:String = "gnet.blitzcoder.org" Const hostget:String = ""
I will be updating the GNet page with this info and for Blitz3D as well and perhaps some ready to run examples. The server code will also be available as soon as I convert it to PDO.
Hope that helps.
Many thanks for the reply, the modified strings work and I have tested a game using the lobby and all went well with the server name appearing in the server list on your gnet page. Thanks again for getting this site up and running, I'm no wizard coder but I like to contribute where I can and a site such as this allows it. I'm still working on my gnet lobby but I've been distracted by the wonders of PHP (not to mention C++ and SDL2, thanks) when coupled with linier data (comma deliniated text files) so I've still to master the sql bit. Have fun cps.
You're welcome cps! glad it went well. :-) Yes, the site is still a work in progress, but I'm planning to add an updated code snippet/archives and online manuals soon. I do need some help on those and definitely with newer Blitz projects that I will announce here soon.
